DECLARACION MESA POLITICA DEL FRENTE AMPLIO

The people of Uruguay and several of its political institutions have historically recognized the existence of the Armenian genocide and have shown solidarity with the struggles of the Republic of Armenia for Truth and Justice.

Today, negotiations between Armenia and Turkey-a fact that we recognize as positive – put back on the negotiating table discussion on the existence of the first genocide of the twentieth century.

In this sense, the Frente Amplio considers the need to reaffirm, without hesitation their solidarity with the Armenian people in their struggle for the truth and in that sense

DECLARES:

• That the Frente Amplio endorses the recognition of the Armenian genocide approved time by the Legislature.
• The need for the international community to recognize the Armenian genocide.
• Our support for the claims of the Armenian people for the peaceful the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh.
• Our support for the restoration of free contact between the Armenian population of the enclave with the population of the Republic of Armenia.
